In the spirit of minting this personal site and expanding its content, I’m kickstarting this digital garden aimed to be a less structured / more exploratory alternative to my Substack.
I first learnt of the digital garden from rahim.li’s blog and was expanded upon in Maggie Appleton’s, and I decided that I wanted to do something similar - a personal website independent of traditional social media that is part-portfolio, part-blog, part-knowledge-hub; and all me. This garden is arranged in roughly chronological order and organised via tags and backlinks, as regularly updated as I feel like it.
I’m sure there’s a more efficient way to manage this like Obsidian/Notion/Wordpress but I’m going hard and manual for now until it gets unrealistically out of hand.
My very first tag will be #whimsoftheweek, acting as a direct import from my notes app/camera roll/notebook, etc. of snippets I’ve found interesting throughout the week, uploaded roughly once a week.
Bit by bit, more may be added, or perhaps this is the first and only post here! It’s a mystery to everyone except God as to how much this garden will expand. All I know though is that if I want a vibrant, beautiful space — I’ll need to put in the work.
